It was agreed that a pacific northwest day filled with fog and pouring rain holds a special beauty for us PLU folks.

While conversing with students on the train, I learned that one of them is taking the energy course because she feels a sense of responsibility to her planet. She wants to become aware of the science, environmental and social aspects of how we use Earth's resources. Students like this one, who understand the complexities of physics applications, have an optimistic view of our energy future.
